Looking for Holiday Books?
November 26, 2013
Readers looking for a great holiday read: you are in for a treat, whether you’re looking for a cozy romance or an off-the-wall tale of Christmas mayhem. A display featuring a large collection of Christmas books is now available on the 3rd floor of the library (between Paperbacks and Large Print). Curl up beside the fire with a mug of hot cocoa and a good book from your library!
Note: Books in alternate formats, such as Large Print and audio titles, are not included on this book display for space reasons (though some audiobooks are available on the Winter Holidays multimedia display). However, many favorite titles are also available in audio and especially in Large Print. Librarians in Readers’ Services can help you locate Christmas books in alternate formats—just ask at the desk or call (336) 883-3638!

Beginning December 2, 2013 our system can keep a loan history of everything you borrow from the library. You must request this service at the lending desk or customer service desk on the first floor. This service is not retroactive and will only track items you borrow after you request the service.
Please be advised that if your records should be subpoenaed by the government or requested by Homeland Security, we would be required to surrender them.
E-Reader/Tablet Gift Service
November 19, 2013
Are you planning on giving an e-reader, tablet, or smartphone to a friend or loved one as a holiday gift?
Then our E-Reader/Tablet Gift Service is for you!
The High Point Public Library is providing complimentary gift boxes (with tissue paper, ribbon and gift tag included) that are large enough to use to wrap an e-reader or tablet.
In the gift box we will provide information on how to use the library’s free downloadable books from the North Carolina Digital Library. We can customize the information in the box by the type of device being given: Nook, Kindle, or Smartphone/Tablet.
The gift boxes will be available for pick-up starting Mon., Dec 2nd. Come to the Desk on the 3rd floor of the library to request yours. There are limited quantities, so one per person, please!
For more information, contact Julie Raynor at 883-3093 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
